About the Opportunity:

As a key member of the Challenger Motor Freight Inc. team, the Procurement Manager will play a critical role in developing and implementing comprehensive procurement and material management strategies to support the company's growth and success. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring that it is aligned with the company's overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
  • Manage the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on procurement-related matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that procurement strategies are aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts to ensure that procurement activities are aligned with financial goals.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement management, preferably in a large distribution company.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
