Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to create 2D and 3D designs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and travel to customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop 2D and 3D designs, solid models, and drawings with minimal direction
  • Collaborate with customers, sales, project managers, and other designers to understand project requirements
  • Research, design, and evaluate mechanical products, equipment, and systems to meet requirements
  • Specify system components, prepare bills of material, and modify products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
  • Verify completed layouts, drawings, and bills of material for accuracy and completeness

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering design in a manufacturing environment
  • Post-secondary education in mechanical design, mechatronics, or mechanical engineering
  • Proficient in SolidWorks or comparable 3D design platform(s)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Travel to customer sites up to 25% of work time
