Company Overview: TalentTank Recruiting Inc. is actively seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer/Detailer to support our client in the Metal Fabrication sector.

Position Overview: In this pivotal role, you will work closely with various departments including planning, production, and sales to evaluate, measure, and create detailed layouts for both new and existing structures such as tanks, bridges, and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret architectural and structural plans, ensuring precise documentation for project estimates while utilizing CAD systems effectively.
  • Compile material lists for fabrication, manage work orders, and liaise with Quality Assurance and Production teams to uphold standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Resolve drawing discrepancies, develop comprehensive drawings from initial concepts, assist in project cost estimations, and provide expert guidance on intricate engineering tasks.
  • Review shop drawings, maintain communication with clients and engineers, and collaborate with the Quality Department to ensure project success.
  • Engage in the planning and estimating phases, foster strong professional relationships, adapt to evolving project needs, and support both sales and engineering functions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or certification as an Engineering Technologist/Technician (BSc., P. Eng., or CET).
  • Familiarity with Safety PLC Systems and relevant Safety Standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, mechanical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes and the ability to analyze technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Inventor, and AutoCAD for effective data management and creation.
