Essential Skills:

Main Duties:

  1. Develop and implement testing protocols for both cyclical and destructive evaluations
  2. Analyze engineering specifications or blueprints
  3. Clarify engineering drawings, specifications, or other technical documentation
  4. Support engineers in the design, development, testing, or production of medical devices or other machinery
  5. Evaluate products for functionality and quality assurance
  6. Assess the performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or machinery
  7. Design specialized or tailored equipment, machines, or structures
  8. Draft specifications, designs, or sketches for medical devices, components, or systems associated with the generation, transmission, or utilization of medical technology
  9. Create visual representations of mechanical systems
  10. Document detailed technical designs
  11. Offer technical assistance to colleagues regarding mechanical design, fabrication, testing, or documentation
  12. Provide technical advice to other staff members
  13. Inspect and evaluate equipment
  14. Conduct failure analyses, record findings, and suggest corrective measures
  15. Perform quantitative failure analyses of operational data
  16. Document results from design or operational tests
  17. Propose technical design or process modifications to enhance efficiency, quality, or performance
  18. Assemble or disassemble intricate mechanical systems
  19. Put together equipment or components
  20. Prepare cost and material estimates or project timelines
  21. Estimate operational expenses
  22. Assist mechanical engineers in product testing by setting up instrumentation for medical device evaluations
  23. Support engineers in research initiatives
  24. Test machines, components, materials, or products to ascertain characteristics such as performance, strength, or stress response
  25. Evaluate material or structural characteristics
  26. Monitor the productivity or efficiency of industrial processes
  27. Analyze or estimate production costs, including labor, equipment, or facility space
  28. Assess costs and benefits of proposed designs or projects
