TalentTank Recruiting Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Designer/Detailer to join our client's team in the Metal Fabrication Industry.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with planning, production, and sales departments to meticulously measure, assess, and sketch structural layouts and details for a diverse range of projects, including new and existing tanks, bridges, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings, analyze blueprints and documentation for accurate estimates, and utilize CAD systems proficiently.
  • Generate comprehensive materials lists for fabricators, create/manage work orders, and coordinate with Quality Assurance and Production teams to ensure accuracy and timely completion of projects.
  • Identify and resolve drawing issues, develop detailed drawings from conceptual designs, assist in project cost estimations, and provide valuable guidance for complex engineering endeavors.
  • Thoroughly review shop drawings, maintain clear communication with customers/engineers, and collaborate effectively with the Quality Department to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Actively participate in planning and estimating stages, cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, adapt to evolving project requirements, and provide support to sales and engineering teams as needed.
Requirements:
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification such as an Engineering Technologist/Technician (BSc., P. Eng., or CET).
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Safety PLC Systems and relevant safety standards.
  • Exhibit proficiency in reading, interpreting welding blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Possess expertise in fabrication procedures and the ability to analyze technical specifications effectively.
  • Display strong analytical skills and a customer-centric approach.
  • Be proficient in MS Office Suite, Inventor, and AutoCAD for data file management and creation.
