About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Shelter Support Worker at Good Shepherd Centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client contact and support services to individuals accessing shelter services.
  • Carry a caseload and work within a client-centered perspective.
  • Develop and maintain personalized counseling plans.
  • Work from a trauma-informed, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and feminist framework.
  • Support the development of social service programs and services.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a social service-related field or lived experience working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Good knowledge of social service agencies and community resources.
  • Strong understanding of harm reduction principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Fluency in a language in addition to English is an asset.
