About WARIS CONSTRUCTION LTD.

We are a dynamic construction company seeking a skilled Framer Assistant to join our team. As a Framer Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our framing crew in the construction of residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load, Unload, and Transport Construction Materials: Safely load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Assist in Framing Houses: Assist our framing crew in erecting walls, building roofs, and constructing other structural elements of buildings.
  • Clean and Pile Salvaged Materials: Clean and pile salvaged materials for reuse or recycling.
  • Tend or Feed Machines: Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, such as cranes, forklifts, or other heavy machinery.
  • Direct Traffic: Direct traffic at or near construction sites to ensure a safe working environment.
Support for Persons with Disabilities:
  • Physical Accessibility Accommodations: Provide physical accessibility accommodations, such as ramps, elevators, or other modifications, to ensure equal access to our facilities and job sites.
  • Visual Accessibility Accommodations: Provide visual accessibility accommodations, such as braille, screen readers, or other assistive technologies, to support employees with visual impairments.
  • Auditory Accessibility Accommodations: Provide auditory accessibility accommodations, such as transcription software, teletypewriters, or other assistive technologies, to support employees with hearing impairments.
  • Participate in Disability Support Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support persons with disabilities, such as mentorship programs, coaching, or networking opportunities.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Participate in Newcomer Support Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees, such as language training, skills training, or job placement services.
  • Assist with Settlement Needs: Assist newcomers and refugees with immediate settlement needs, such as housing, transportation, storage, childcare, or winter clothing.
  • Support Labour Market Integration: Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees, such as facilitating access to community resources, language training, or skills training.
Support for Youth:
  • Participate in Youth Employment Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support youth employment, such as mentorship programs, coaching, or networking opportunities.
  • Offer On-the-Job Training: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, such as skills training or job placement services.
Support for Veterans:
  • Participate in Veteran Support Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support veterans, such as mentorship programs, coaching, or networking opportunities.
  • Recruit Veterans: Recruit veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives, such as job fairs or outreach programs.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participate in Indigenous Support Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people, such as mentorship programs, coaching, or networking opportunities.
  • Develop Relationships with Indigenous Communities: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, or organizations.
Support for Mature Workers:
  • Participate in Mature Worker Support Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support mature workers, such as mentorship programs, coaching, or networking opportunities.
  • Apply Age-Friendly Hiring Policies: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination, such as anonymizing the hiring process.
Support for Visible Minorities:
  • Participate in Visible Minority Support Programs: Participate in government or community programs that support members of visible minorities, such as mentorship programs, coaching, or networking opportunities.
