Physician - Pain Management Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Physician - Pain Management Specialist to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our Pain and Symptom Management/Palliative Care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.
About the Role:This is a regular part-time position with flexible FTE, offering a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be responsible for addressing the palliative care needs of ambulant cancer patients, integrated with oncological management, including those in the survivorship context.
As a fully licensed physician, you will be accountable for facilitating a coordinated approach and ensuring continuity of palliative care support through effective communication and transfers back to community-level physicians, home care/palliative care services.
You will provide consultation and education to other BC Cancer care teams and community-based care providers as required, and support and engage in research and education interests in the area of palliative and supportive care.
Responsibilities:- Facilitate a coordinated approach to palliative care support
- Ensure continuity of palliative care support through effective communication and transfers
- Provide consultation and education to other BC Cancer care teams and community-based care providers
- Support and engage in research and education interests in palliative and supportive care
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism reports
As per the current Public Health Order, full vaccination against COVID-19 is a condition of employment with PHSA as of October 26, 2021.
