Physician - Pain Management Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Physician - Pain Management Specialist to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our Pain and Symptom Management/Palliative Care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.
About the Role:This is a regular part-time position with flexible FTE hours. You will be responsible for participating in the clinical, educational, and research activities of the PSMPC Team in your centre. There is some scope for protected research time if you have the appropriate skills and interest.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate a coordinated approach to palliative care support through effective communication and transfers back to community-level physicians and home care/palliative care services.
- Provide consultation and education to other BC Cancer care teams and community-based care providers as required.
- Support and engage in research and education interests in the area of palliative and supportive care.
- Enhance awareness and provide public and provider education on palliative care and symptom management for oncology patients.
- Must be a fully licensed physician who meets the requirements of the provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Medical Advisory Committee of the BC Cancer Agency and the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
- Applicants from a CCFP background should have the Certificate of Added Competency in Palliative Care (CAC); and applicants with a Royal College background should have Palliative Medicine Subspecialty Accreditation or equivalent training and experience.
