Accounting Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Clerk to join our team at CB Canada. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process daily invoices and credit memos, and apply cash receipts to the general ledger.
  • Create statements and reports using various sources, including financial software and spreadsheets.
  • Perform general accounting tasks, such as G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing.
  • Support accounts payable by processing vendor invoices and disbursement filing, and matching invoices to purchase orders.
  • Post financial information to journals and ledgers, and reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement.
  • Code documents using the proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes.
  • Perform additional related duties and assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds.
  • 1+ years of accounting experience required.
  • Adeptness in Bank Deposit and demonstrated knowledge of Bank Deposit.
  • Deep understanding of bank reconciliations and journal entries experience.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred, and candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
