About the Role

Interior Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Informatics Analyst II to join our team in Kelowna. As a key member of our clinical informatics team, you will play a critical role in evaluating, planning, implementing, testing, maintaining, and supporting information systems that support clinical and health information needs throughout Interior Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct requirements analysis/needs assessments for defined department/program areas by conducting user interviews, assessing information flows, and understanding business processes.
  • Install, configure, and test clinical and health information systems.
  • Develop and document systems processes and procedures.
  • Prepare implementation plans and schedules, including estimating resource estimates.
  • Monitor and report progress for duties and responsibilities.
  • Support and maintain clinical and health information systems.
  • Liaise with members of the assigned areas/departments and software vendors to troubleshoot problems, assess priority, research and evaluate alternatives, and implement recommendations.
  • Determine ongoing information needs, implement system changes, and provide support related to clinical and health information software applications.
  • Serve as the primary contact person for assigned clinical service areas regarding software applications.
  • Develop proposals for modification and/or enhancement of vendor software applications and liaise with vendors to oversee installation, testing, and problem resolution/debugging of program coding.
  • Participate in the development of department standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate computerized software dictionaries, databases, and reports using vendor software applications.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate educational training requirements and provide related training to meet the learning needs of users within the areas/departments with respect to (a) education of new users and (b) the continuing education of users regarding system upgrades and new technology.
  • Provide informational input and expertise during acquisition of products and services and during development of department project plans, project priorities, and tactical plans as required.
Qualifications

Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science plus two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Ability to organize work, deal with others effectively, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, operate related equipment, and perform the duties of the position.
