Clinical Informatics Specialist

Interior Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Informatics Analyst II to join our team in Kelowna. As a key member of our clinical informatics team, you will play a critical role in evaluating, planning, implementing, testing, maintaining, and supporting information systems that support clinical and health information needs throughout Interior Health.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct requirements analysis and needs assessments for clinical and health information systems, including user interviews, information flow assessments, and business process understanding.
- Install, configure, and test clinical and health information systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Develop and document system processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with established policies and standards.
- Prepare implementation plans and schedules, including resource estimation and progress monitoring.
- Support and maintain clinical and health information systems, troubleshooting issues and providing expert advice to users.
- Liaise with software vendors to troubleshoot problems, assess priority, research, and evaluate alternatives, and implement recommendations.
- Determine ongoing information needs, implement system changes, and provide support related to clinical and health information software applications.
- Serve as the primary contact person for assigned clinical service areas regarding software applications.
- Develop proposals for modification and/or enhancement of vendor software applications and liaise with vendors to oversee installation, testing, and problem resolution/debugging of program coding.
- Participate in the development of department standards, methods, and procedures.
- Design, develop, implement, and evaluate computerized software dictionaries, databases, and reports using vendor software applications.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate educational training requirements and provide related training to meet the learning needs of users within the areas/departments.
Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science, plus two years' recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to organize work, deal with others effectively, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, operate related equipment, and perform the duties of the position.
