About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at BC Cancer, a leading cancer care organization in British Columbia. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medications for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and prepare medication orders for distribution to patients, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Receive and verify prescriptions from healthcare practitioners, checking for completeness and authenticity.
  • Prepare and package medications, including hazardous drugs, according to established procedures.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions, ensuring patient safety.
  • Enter and maintain accurate records of medication and patient information in our pharmacy information system.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including standing for long periods and lifting medications.
  • Strong keyboard skills and proficiency in using computerized systems.
  • Awareness of and commitment to Indigenous cultural safety and reconciliation principles.
