Certified Utility Arborists (CUA) – British Columbia

Wright Canada Holdings Ltd, operating as Wright Tree Service of Canada, is in search of skilled CUAs for various roles across British Columbia. These positions are permanent and full-time, offering highly competitive hourly wages, a comprehensive benefits package, and an employee ownership plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, instruct, and lead tree trimmers, equipment operators, and ground crew
  • Perform tree trimming and removal by climbing with the aid of ladders, safety gear, climbing lines, or utilizing powered lift trucks, as well as ground-level work with saws and pruners
  • Manage the removal or trimming of trees and brush that encroach upon utility or transportation rights of way
  • Take responsibility for inspecting and ensuring the proper functioning of tools, vehicles, and other equipment
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols by all team members on-site
  • Execute additional job-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Valid Certified Utility Arborist designation or eligibility to challenge BC skilled trades certification
  • Fundamental understanding of trees, including identification, growth patterns, and appropriate arboricultural techniques for trimming, pruning, maintaining, and removing
  • Commitment to safety standards and ensuring team members operate safely
  • Capability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds regularly
  • Ability to endure various weather and environmental conditions
  • Valid driver's license
