About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backbase Backend Developer to join our team at Aequilibrium Software Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for integrating and extending the Backbase digital banking platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integrate and extend the Backbase digital banking platform
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and development teams to deliver compelling products and services
  • Transform business requirements into technical architecture
  • Apply Agile values to work and understand how they can improve team success
  • Write clean, maintainable, testable code that solves business problems quickly
  • Proactively engage with clients to solve their business challenges
  • Perform peer code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of production-level experience in Java
  • SOAP and RESTful Web Services and tools like XML, JSON, and RAML
  • Microservices architecture knowledge
  • Experience performing Unit Testing using JUnit
  • Knowledge of application Servers like Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic, or JBoss
  • Strong grasp of Git, Subversion, and other source control technologies
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns and frameworks like Apache Camel
  • Experience developing large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures
  • Experience with cloud technologies, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes
  • Experience with security and systems that handle sensitive data
  • Good knowledge of SQL
  • Experience in the financial services industry or professional services experience is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with credit unions or banks and integrating/tailoring digital banking platforms
  • Experience with or knowledge of Agile Methodology, such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI)
  • Web Application Security (OWASP) and best practices for writing secure code
  • Persistence frameworks like Hibernate
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
  • Databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, or NoSQL
