Your Role

Our office is seeking a Bilingual Manager or Senior Manager to enhance our Assurance team. Candidates currently residing in Canada and considering relocation may be eligible for financial support. The selected individual will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare year-end engagements and tax filings efficiently for clients across diverse sectors.
  • Conduct audits, compile working papers, and draft financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Establish and maintain positive client relationships, responding effectively to inquiries and feedback.
  • Engage in business development efforts and identify growth opportunities with existing clientele.
  • Begin to cultivate a personal practice and manage an increased workload.
  • Communicate regularly with team members regarding project updates and challenges.
  • Train staff and invest in the professional growth of your team, taking on a more prominent leadership role within the office.
  • Review assurance and non-assurance engagements for various entities to ensure compliance with professional standards and firm policies.
  • Oversee and manage audit and review assignments under ASPE, ASNPO, and PSAS.
  • Plan, supervise, and execute assurance and non-assurance engagements effectively.
  • Develop a portfolio of new clients and continuously seek business opportunities with existing clients.
  • Address client concerns promptly, adhering to BDO Policy while leveraging your technical skills and accounting expertise.
  • Utilize industry knowledge to anticipate, identify, and resolve issues pertinent to the client's business.
  • Collaborate creatively to provide tailored solutions that meet client needs and business objectives.
  • Assist clients in analyzing and applying accounting standards to relevant transactions, including drafting reports and presentations.
  • Support clients in preparing financial statements, working papers, and liaising with auditors during transitions to different accounting frameworks.
  • Stay informed on evolving financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Fluently communicate in both French and English (written and oral).

Your Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with ASPE, ASNPO, and PSAS files.
  • 2 - 4+ years of experience in a managerial capacity.
  • CPA designation is mandatory.

  • Demonstrate leadership within the firm, with a focus on employee engagement.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills in both French and English.
