At WTW, we're committed to helping global organizations optimize their employee retirement programs. As a Retirement Actuarial Intern, you'll work closely with our consulting team to provide expertise in designing, funding, investing, communicating, governing, and employee management.

Gain Practical Experience

You'll have direct exposure to real client assignments and meetings, where you'll analyze data, solve problems, develop solutions, and share your results. This role offers a balance of expanding your technical and industry knowledge, developing your problem-solving and communications skills, and working in a close-knit and supportive team environment.

Develop Your Skills

You'll participate in a multi-day session with other interns to network and learn about WTW's Retirement business. Throughout your term, you'll engage in a robust training program to enhance your understanding of basic pension consulting.

Benefit from Mentorship

You'll have close interaction and support from your Lead Retirement Consultant mentor, who will work with you on client assignments, provide an inside look at how the business works, and advise you on future career growth.

Advance Your Career

Accepted applicants will be eligible for a comprehensive actuarial exam study program, including paid study hours and exam coaching to assist in attaining an accredited actuarial designation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, fund, price, and implement and manage retirement programs.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking analysis of benefit plan designs.
  • Develop professional expertise and technical knowledge and skills in the area of retirement plans.
  • Work with a wide range of associates at all levels within the local practice.
  • Perform asset/liability modeling.
  • Perform actuarial pension valuations for a variety of clients.
  • Assist with completion of plan reporting and filing requirements.
  • Perform plan administrative tasks such as completing benefit calculations, reviewing plan documents, and producing benefit statements.
