We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team at BAWA CONSTRUCTION INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools and ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems, working collaboratively with other team members.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware, ensuring a seamless finish.
- Survey building locations and levels, using specialized equipment and techniques.
- Supervise other workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Estimate costs and materials, making informed decisions to optimize project outcomes.
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments, demonstrating expertise and attention to detail.
- Bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads are essential aspects of this role.
- A combination of sitting, standing, and walking is required, with regular breaks to maintain productivity and safety.
- Overtime may be required, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment is essential.
- Reliability, accuracy, and efficient interpersonal skills are crucial for success in this position.
