The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Anesthetic Care Unit at BC Children's Hospital plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality nursing care to young patients and their families. This role encompasses comprehensive patient evaluation, therapeutic interventions, educational support for families, and initiatives aimed at promoting health. The ideal candidate will foster an inclusive and secure environment for all individuals, adhering to the hospital's established guidelines and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and health records
- Design and implement direct care plans for pediatric patients
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to assess and enhance patient care
- Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on health matters
- Identify educational needs and engage in relevant activities to address them
- Participate in the orientation and training of new staff
- Serve as a clinical resource for patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current registration as a practicing RN
- A minimum of one year of recent experience in pediatric PACU or pediatric critical care
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support
