Job Summary:We are seeking an energetic and results-oriented General Manager to lead the food and beverage team at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place in downtown Toronto. This individual will oversee all managerial, full-time, and part-time positions and ensure full compliance with provincial laws, sanitation and food-related regulations, and alcohol service laws, in addition to managing day-to-day business operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure legal, efficient, professional, and profitable operation of Enercare Centre.
- Generate and review financial reports, including budgets, projections, forecasting, revenue analysis, disbursements, capital investments, labor and product costs, wage and salary control, P&L financial statements.
- Enforce company issued policies and procedures.
- Provide each manager with the proper direction.
- Inspect the operation on a regular basis to ensure that the established quality standards are maintained.
- Give the managers clear direction and provide the necessary assistance for them to perform their assigned duties.
- Evaluate each manager's performance and make recommendations for their improvement.
- Establish and maintain personal relationships with show managers, suppliers, vendors, and the public that projects Enercare Centre in a positive and professional manner.
- Minimum 5 years management experience in high volume catering and retail environments.
- Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification.
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, clients, and guests in a clear, professional, and courteous manner which fosters a positive enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
- Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft Office, POS systems, payroll and scheduling systems.
- Possess a thorough working knowledge of all existing Retail and Catering locations, equipment, evacuation procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas, and facility access.
- Possess a valid Food Handlers certificate and Smart Serve Certification.
- Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, pertaining to Oak View Group and venue retail and catering services operations.
