PHP Full-Stack Developer Position

We are in search of a full-time Intermediate Full-Stack Web Developer to collaborate closely with the Director of Digital Media and the Web Development team, along with other internal departments. This role involves contributing to both client-side and server-side projects, including website creation, ongoing support tasks, new product innovation, database architecture, and resolving technical challenges.

Applicants should possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, along with a degree from an accredited institution or a combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the capability to fulfill the essential duties of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites and applications
  • Implement ongoing enhancements and optimizations for websites
  • Oversee and manage the AWS infrastructure
  • Work in conjunction with the design and development team to introduce new features and functionalities
  • Incorporate new technologies, audience platforms, APIs, and general applications into the digital ecosystem
  • Diagnose and resolve WordPress-related issues
  • Create features to improve user experience, mobile optimization, and speed
  • Engage with clients regarding technical troubleshooting
  • Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in WordPress

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Full-Stack Developer with WordPress
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Experience with WordPress, including the creation of custom themes and plugins
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Solid understanding of MySQL and experience with database integration and optimization
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, LightSail, S3, and CloudFront
  • Strong grasp of web development best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, and SEO
  • Proficiency in using the Linux command line and Git
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Interest in UX Design
  • Experience with Adobe XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Familiarity with other Content Management Systems such as Drupal and CodeIgniter
  • Proficient communication skills in French
  • Adept at problem-solving in real-time and adapting quickly
  • Versatile: able to take on various roles to support daily operations
  • Candidates will be required to complete a take-home assessment during the selection process
