Job Title: Butcher - Retail or Wholesale

We are seeking a skilled Butcher - Retail or Wholesale to join our team at Ontario Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing standard cuts of meat, as well as wrapping and packaging prepared meats. They will also be required to clean and prepare fish and shellfish, cut poultry into parts, and grind meats.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting
  • Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat
  • Wrap and package prepared meats
  • Remove bones from meat
  • Weigh meats for sale
  • Cut poultry into parts
  • Clean and prepare fish and shellfish
  • Cut fish into steaks and fillets
  • Grind meats
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood
  • Prepare special orders
  • Maintain inventory of stored material
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
  • Flexibility, organization, and reliability
  • Team player with a positive attitude
