Aecon Industrial stands as a leader in industrial construction, and we are in search of a new General Foreperson to assist in the execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all operations are conducted safely, adhering to safety, quality, and human performance standards. Utilize the project master schedule to develop detailed look-ahead schedules for effective forecasting and planning. Aid in formulating recovery strategies when project timelines or budgets are at risk. Plan and authorize the work of both internal teams and subcontractors, determining construction methods, manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and work schedules. Take responsibility for the efficient use of materials and equipment, ensuring contractual obligations are met. Guarantee that trades personnel complete all necessary training in safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation, and client specifications. Ensure that the project is executed in accordance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and remains compliant with the project schedule and budget. Collaborate with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, and other contractors as needed. Ensure work aligns with QA Programs and project quality standards. Maintain comprehensive field documentation, including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, equipment rental records, manpower reports, and other relevant documents. Identify and support revisions as necessary to facilitate field operations. Coordinate across all project functions to achieve task objectives. Provide leadership to field supervisors, coordinators, and craft labor. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Must hold a Carpenters Certification of Qualification or possess an equivalent combination of technical training and relevant experience. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction supervision. Familiarity with heavy civil formwork and concrete placement. Proven ability to effectively coordinate construction projects. Comprehensive knowledge of construction aspects, including technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety regulations. Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Fundamental presentation skills. Basic understanding of blueprints.
