Service Overview:

Role Overview:
The Positive Wellness Program Support Worker plays a vital role in delivering direct services to individuals living with HIV and/or hepatitis C. This position involves:

  • Engaging with clients using a collaborative, person-centered approach rooted in harm reduction principles.
  • Conducting assessments and providing crisis response and counseling to meet immediate needs.
  • Advocating for clients with various agencies to ensure they receive necessary support.
  • Facilitating group sessions for identified priority populations.
  • Distributing harm reduction supplies and offering education on safer practices.
  • Providing referrals to healthcare and support services.
  • Participating in community initiatives focused on HIV and hepatitis C.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a diploma in health or social services, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle are required.

Skills and Attributes:
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to build rapport with a diverse clientele, including those facing significant health challenges. A strong understanding of social justice, health promotion, and public health approaches is essential.

Work Schedule:
This is a part-time position, requiring availability three weekdays per week.
