Job Title: Crime Review Officer

Join the City of Kelowna as a Crime Review Officer and contribute to ensuring the integrity of police investigations. As a key member of the Community Safety team, you will play a vital role in providing quality assurance audits of police files and identifying accurate classification of file scoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of police investigational files to ensure compliance with legal obligations and policy requirements.
  • Identify and address deficiencies in file scoring and classification, ensuring accurate and detailed reporting to the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics.
  • Collaborate with police officers and support staff to provide guidance, feedback, and corrective direction to ensure file integrity.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to RCMP cadets and other stakeholders on quality assurance issues and best practices.
  • Utilize expertise in Operational Statistical Reporting (OSR) and Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) to analyze data and identify trends and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of RCMP policies and procedures, as well as experience in law enforcement or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance.
