We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Superintendent to join our team at the City of Saint John. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the effective operation and maintenance of our water and wastewater systems, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our citizens.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of water and wastewater operators, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our systems.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the performance and reliability of our water and wastewater systems.
- Collaborate with other city departments and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Manage and coordinate the maintenance and repair of our water and wastewater infrastructure, including the development of budgets and resource allocation plans.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure the ongoing development and improvement of our water and wastewater operators.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in the water and wastewater industry.
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience, with a focus on safety, quality, and customer service.
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including operation and maintenance of treatment plants and distribution systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
