Job Overview

Vertex is seeking a skilled Class 1 Fluids Operator to join our team in Grande Prairie, AB. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting bulk liquids across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to weight limits and utilizing company equipment efficiently.
  • Comply with Company policies, Health and Safety procedures, Department of Transportation, and Hazardous Materials/Waste requirements and regulations.
  • Complete daily scheduled deliveries and services in a timely manner, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, dispatch, and trip reports, demurrage, and time sheets.
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections, routine maintenance, and general housekeeping to ensure units operate efficiently.
  • Safely observe company operating guidelines and procedures, prioritizing environmental health and safety.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driver abstract.
  • 2 years' experience driving tank trucks (fluid hauling) desired.
  • Ability to operate Tri-Axle units and Super B trucks.
  • Hold relevant safety tickets, including First Aid/CPR, Construction Safety Training (CSTS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and H2S Alive.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and prioritize tasks.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Availability to accept after-hour calls and occasional overnight stays in the truck.
