Job Summary

Vertex is currently seeking a highly skilled Class 1 Fluids Operator to join our team in Grande Prairie, AB. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of fluids across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class 1 vehicle to transport fluids to various locations, adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Load and unload cargo safely and efficiently, adhering to weight limits and company procedures.
  • Complete daily scheduled deliveries and services in a timely manner, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance, submitting reports as required.
  • Collaborate with dispatch and other team members to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as safety, transportation regulations, and customer service.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving tank trucks (fluid hauling) or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Ability to operate Tri-Axle units and Super B trucks.
  • Hold relevant safety certifications, including First Aid/CPR, Construction Safety Training (CSTS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and H2S Alive.
  • Strong commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices.
  • Excellent time management and productivity skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform duties that require lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including after-hours calls and occasional overnight stays in the truck.
