About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Recycling and Waste Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the facility, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operational Management: Work closely with the Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Recycling and Waste Centre, including scale, waste handling, and recycling depot operations.
  2. Compliance and Safety: Monitor compliance with safety and other regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  3. Staff Management: Oversee up to 25 direct and indirect reports, providing guidance and support to ensure the efficient handling of recyclables and waste.
  4. Financial Management: Establish and achieve budgetary objectives through resourceful and well-managed utilization of resources, including labour, equipment, and supplies.
  5. Reporting and Communication: Present monthly financial results to senior management and attend regular meetings with Metro Vancouver to report on the operation of the facility.
Requirements
  1. Education: Grade 12 or GED equivalency; job-related post-secondary education considered an asset.
  2. Experience: Prior experience in a managerial capacity required, preferably in the waste management and recycling industry.
  3. Skills: Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with employees at various levels of the organization.
