As a Manager of Integrated Construction Technology in our Montreal office, you will play a crucial role in our operations:
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the creation and review of virtual models based on plans, specifications, and elevations.
- Oversee the allocation of integrated construction resources at the district level while leading initiatives for departmental process enhancements.
- Collaborate with estimating teams to determine and manage staffing resources and budgets for new projects.
- Engage in project interviews and proposal development related to virtual design construction (VDC) and other integrated technologies.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices across various projects and districts.
- Lead the establishment, management, and optimization of digital workflows.
- Supervise the coordination and management of trade detailing and design deliverables across multiple projects.
- Act as a liaison between design teams and construction teams.
- During the project pursuit phase, collaborate with the project team to assess and recommend scopes for VDC tools and processes.
- Contribute to defining design deliverables and trade detailing requirements.
- Participate in the pursuit and proposal development for projects, including narrative and presentation material preparation.
- Draft VDC and ICT contract language and ensure its integration into design or subcontract agreements, developing a BIM (Building Information Model) execution plan.
- Bachelor's degree, diploma, or a 2-year certificate in a discipline related to the building industry (e.g., architecture, engineering, construction).
- 11 to 15 years of experience in the construction industry, including 5 to 6 years focused on virtual design and construction.
- Expertise in understanding construction sequences.
- Advanced knowledge and proven experience in implementing construction technology.
- Ability to develop effective model management procedures.
- In-depth understanding of the building construction process and its various components at each construction stage.
- Proficient in overseeing and ensuring the quality of virtual construction models from design and trade partners.
- Comprehensive understanding of trade detailing and design workflows.
- Ability to interpret and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications, translating them into a complete 3D/4D Building Information Model.
- Advanced training in 3D modeling software.
- Experience with 4D scheduling software and planning tools.
