Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at Horizon Health Network. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions to meet individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, using strong interpersonal and communication skills to promote patient-centered care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices to enhance patient care and safety.
- Work collaboratively with other departments and teams to ensure efficient and effective patient flow, minimizing delays and optimizing resource utilization.
Requirements
- Current registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick.
- Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support Course and recertification yearly.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an ER and/or critical care setting, or successful completion of the NBCCNP.
- Certified in IV and CVAD Therapy, in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Current BCMI/ACLS Certification, or willingness to acquire certification within 6 months.
- Must complete required certification for medical delegated functions specific to ER within 6 months.
- Completion of CTAS course, or willingness to obtain within 1 year.
- Completion of required certification for medical delegated functions specific to ER within 6 months.
- Current ENCP/PALS/TNCC Certification, or willingness to obtain within 1 year.
- Possesses the medical/surgical nursing knowledge and clinical skills/expertise necessary to provide care for this population and off-service patients.
- Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations, rapidly changing priorities, and complex patient care needs.
- Possesses the medical/surgical nursing knowledge and clinical skills/expertise necessary to provide care.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, or willingness to obtain within 1 year.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, as assigned, including weekends and holidays throughout the year.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.

Language Proficiency
