Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurse Class A to join our team in Miramichi. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes and improve departmental efficiency.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in the care process.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick or eligibility for such.
  • Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support Course and recertification yearly as a condition of continuing employment.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an ER and/or critical care setting or successful completion of the NBCCNP an asset.
  • Certified in IV and CVAD Therapy in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Current BCMI/ACLS Certification or willing to acquire certification at the earliest opportunity, not to exceed 6 months.
  • Must complete required certification for medical delegated functions specific to ER within 6 months.
  • Completion of CTAS course or willingness to obtain within 1 year.
  • Completion of required certification for medical delegated functions specific to ER within 6 months, ie. central lines, etc.
  • Current ENCP/PALS/TNCC Certification or willing to obtain within 1 year.
  • Possesses the medical/surgical nursing knowledge and clinical skills/expertise necessary to provide care for this population and off-service patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations, rapidly changing priorities, and complex patient care needs.
  • Possesses the medical/surgical nursing knowledge and clinical skills/expertise necessary to provide care.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or willingness to obtain within 1 year.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, as assigned, including weekends and holidays throughout the year.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
