About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Mine Planning Dewatering Engineer Intern. This is a 4-month internship based in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, and relocation assistance will be provided.

As a Mine Planning Dewatering Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects related to mine dewatering planning, including developing and communicating short, medium, and long-range dewatering plans. You will also have the chance to participate in field visits, perform dewatering weekly reconciliation, and support with pumping requirements and pump setups.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dewatering and mine planners with developing and communicating dewatering plans
  • Field visits to identify dewatering priorities and task planning
  • Perform dewatering weekly reconciliation
  • Support with pumping requirements and pump setups
  • Support with environmental compliance and long-range environmental permitting requirements
  • Support with inventory management and future requirements
  • Support with efforts to upgrade and purchase new equipment as required for dewatering planned work
  • Contribute to continuous improvements initiatives related to dewatering
  • Coordinate maintenance of all dewatering equipment and updating through the asset management system
  • Create/maintain accurate layouts of all mine dewatering infrastructure through Vulcan
  • Participate in HSE related programs, including safety talks and field observations

Requirements

  • At least one year completed in Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Geology, or Mine Engineering related field
  • Safety mindset
  • Leadership skills, eagerness to learn, and readiness for the challenge ahead
  • Flexibility and autonomy
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Valid driving license
