Join BMO as a Lead Technology Consultant

Are you prepared to elevate your IT career with BMO? We are in search of a seasoned technology consultant who possesses over 7 years of experience in the IT sector, particularly in the realm of AML regulatory reporting.

As a proactive self-starter, you will manage a vital AML regulatory application, ensuring the bank adheres to its regulatory commitments. This role involves working with an on-premises vendor application that supports the AML KYC function. Your exceptional problem-solving abilities, combined with your expertise in Oracle, Linux, and shell scripting, will be crucial for your success.

Your strong communication skills will be essential as you collaborate closely with both business stakeholders and upstream technology partners. The regulatory environment is continuously changing; this position offers you the chance to develop and advance in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate user requirements into technical specifications by understanding and facilitating technical needs from users.
  • Analyze, develop, test, and implement new software programs while documenting the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault rectification of system and core software components.
  • Ensure adherence to security, logging, error handling, and performance standards in code/configurations.
  • Evaluate new technologies for compatibility with the program/system/eco-system and assess their impact on processes, data, and risk.
  • Follow release management processes and standards, applying version controls as necessary.
  • Assist in interpreting and documenting client requirements.
  • Primarily focus on business/group within BMO, with potential enterprise-wide responsibilities.
  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support.
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and resolve problems within established guidelines.
  • Work independently and manage non-routine situations effectively.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as required.
  • Be prepared to work nights or weekends when deploying solutions.
  • Demonstrate a passion for troubleshooting and problem analysis.
  • Continuously learn from projects and daily work experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 5 - 7 years of relevant experience along with a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle DB development using PL/SQL.
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux Shell Scripting.
  • 5+ years of knowledge in IBM Websphere and its configuration.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Migration with a solid understanding of applications.
  • Experience supporting vendor applications and a self-starter attitude to learn the application and its business context.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GitHub and Ansible for deployment and code management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AML processes.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop, including connecting to hBase, and AWS knowledge relevant to the AML roadmap.

Salary: $74,138,600.00
