At MNP, we're seeking a talented Designated Professional to join our Indigenous EASE Services team. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the financial well-being of Indigenous communities across Canada.
With over 250 Indigenous clients and 500 team members dedicated to this sector, MNP is the leading national accounting, tax, and business consulting firm for Indigenous Nations, businesses, and entrepreneurs.
As a Designated Professional, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of full-cycle accounting operations, including financial transactions and reporting. You'll collaborate with clients, internal team members, and relationship managers to ensure high-quality Indigenous EASE engagements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Monitoring and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions and reporting, including compliance with regulatory standards
* Coordinating the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, including variance reports
* Preparing and publishing timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements and Indigenous EASE related reports
* Assisting with new EASE engagements by providing the required information for client setup and deliverable creation
* Maintaining and updating charts of accounts and preparing entries for posting to accounts
* Preparing correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts, and highlights
* Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members
Requirements
* CPA designation (CAFM designation considered an asset)
* Experience working with full-cycle accounting processes
* Knowledge of Sage 300, Sage Intacct, Adagio, Xyntax, QBO, or Xero considered an asset
* Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations preferred
* Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
* Understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles
