Highway Engineering Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team at the Ministry of Transportation. As a key member of our highway engineering team, you will be responsible for managing a variety of planning, preliminary and/or detailed-design highway improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects, including acquisition and management of consultants.
- Liaise and work with ministry staff, senior management, internal stakeholders, external agencies, municipalities, developers, consultants, and the public.
- Lead/coordinate project teams.
- Acquire, administer and evaluate engineering service providers.
- Resolve planning and engineering issues.
Requirements:
- Professional Engineer, licensed with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Project management skills to manage projects, including acquisition and management of consultants.
- Proven effective interpersonal and relationship management skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, senior officials and the public.
- Thorough knowledge of theories, principles and practices of civil engineering related to highway engineering.
- Working knowledge of related fields including geotechnical, pavement design, structural, drainage, surveys, electrical, traffic, construction practices.
- Knowledge of alternative delivery methods, such as functional outsourcing, Total Project Management and Design Build.
- Sound analytical skills and good judgement to assess and recommend solutions to problems in terms of applicable legislation, engineering quality, economic benefit and environmental impact.
Working Conditions:
- Permanent - Full Time
- Temporary, duration up to 12 months
