Key Responsibilities:
• Personal Care: Deliver personal care that enhances the comfort and hygiene of residents, promoting skin health and overall well-being.
• Nutritional Support: Assist residents in fulfilling their dietary needs while engaging in meaningful interactions.
• Mobility Assistance: Support residents with mobility and positioning to ensure their comfort and safety.
• Psychosocial Engagement: Recognize and respond to the intellectual and emotional needs of residents, fostering communication and stimulation.
• Care Planning: Collaborate in the development and assessment of individualized care plans for residents.
• Quality Assurance: Participate in initiatives aimed at improving service quality and managing risks.
• Professional Development: Commit to ongoing education and skill enhancement relevant to current healthcare practices.
Qualifications:
• Completion of a recognized Healthcare Aide program is essential.
• Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships.
• Previous experience in long-term care is advantageous.
• Familiarity with cultural sensitivities, particularly within the German Mennonite community, is beneficial.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
In all interactions, the Healthcare Support Specialist is dedicated to upholding the principles of respect, dignity, and care for seniors, ensuring that all services are delivered with a resident-centered approach.
Employment Requirements:
Successful candidates must provide a current Criminal Record Certificate, undergo a Mantoux test, and complete an Adult Abuse Registry check within three weeks of hire.
