Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all corporate safety policies and procedures, including participation in branch meetings and customer-established guidelines. Report any unsafe practices to your supervisor or manager.
- Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at various customer sites as directed. Be available for on-call service as part of the service office rotation and provide after-hours support when necessary.
- Perform on-site troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic systems to identify equipment malfunctions and implement necessary repairs using visual inspections and appropriate testing methods. Complete a post-repair audit to ensure all safety features are operational.
- Document findings and provide corrective recommendations during safety reviews, including written notifications of any observed safety concerns. Assess customer intentions regarding repairs and note necessary actions.
- Engage with customers on repair and safety-related matters, discussing recommendations that could enhance their safety and productivity before leaving the job site.
- Utilize established digital tools to complete and submit proper electronic documentation for each service, obtaining customer signatures and approvals.
- Understand and apply relevant industry codes and regulations, including CSA, OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and HMI, and refresh knowledge periodically.
- Prepare work packages and related documents accurately and professionally, submitting them in a timely manner according to established guidelines.
- Maintain regular communication with the service office and assigned coordinator as per established practices.
- Ensure all company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets are maintained in safe working order, operating tools and vehicles responsibly.
- Keep an adequate supply of forms, literature, and materials in the service vehicle, documenting usage or sales to customers as required.
- Follow all established safety protocols, including those set by customers.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education: A recognized trade qualification as a Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Millwright, or equivalent experience, or an Associate's degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, depending on provincial legislative requirements and CSA standards.
Additional Requirements: A valid driver's license with a good driving record is essential. Candidates must be physically fit to work at heights, climb ladders, and navigate walkways. Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills are necessary, along with excellent customer interaction abilities. Willingness to work overtime and travel as required is expected.
