This position will deliver technical support and expertise in managing geospatial server and portal software to effectively provide geospatial content and services to stakeholders. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to proactively develop, propose, and implement tailored solutions that address significant challenges and mission requirements faced by the client.

Work Location: Hybrid (3 days in Springfield, VA)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer an ArcGIS Enterprise instance, ensuring all components including Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, Web Adaptor for IIS, and relevant ArcGIS Server extensions (GeoEvent) are maintained across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
  • Monitor the customer’s ArcGIS Enterprise instance to ensure continuous operation and provide corrective actions to resolve system issues.
  • Conduct patching, upgrades, and other system maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation related to system, network, and application designs and implementations.
  • Support the development of deployment strategies, timelines, configurations, testing criteria, and documentation for GIS products such as ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Monitor, and mobile GIS applications like Survey123 and FieldMaps.
  • Offer guidance on platform (i.e., client and server) configuration and best practices to clients.
  • Execute basic and advanced geo-processing tasks utilizing Desktop, web, and cloud-based ArcGIS platforms, alongside other Esri products and extensions, as well as Python and SQL scripts.
  • Communicate ArcGIS Enterprise technologies, conduct complex technical demonstrations, and present GIS products to both technical and non-technical audiences with varying levels of expertise.
  • Collaborate internally to assist customer organizations in aligning their technical objectives with business goals using Esri's technology platform.
  • Aid in the development of configurable applications to filter various web-based data sources and services to isolate organizational information.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in Enterprise GIS architecture, including the design, implementation, and administration of enterprise GIS solutions/systems utilizing the ArcGIS Enterprise platform.
  • Proficiency with Esri software, including ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and associated software components; experience with patching, upgrades, and configuration of application components.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum).
  • Experience with contemporary technology implementation patterns, including service-oriented and cloud-based solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical peers and non-technical project managers or clients.
  • Skills in automating the publishing and maintenance of customer datasets.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with ArcGIS GeoEvent server.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Monitor.
  • Exposure to load testing tools such as JMeter to evaluate platform usage and anticipate load-related challenges.
  • Background in DHS IT Systems developing GIS/IT-driven solutions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with GIS Analysts and Solution Engineers to develop user-facing solutions.
  • Strong communicator of both technical and non-technical concepts to internal and customer-facing audiences.
  • Experience with Hot/Cold and/or High-Availability configurations of ArcGIS Enterprise.
