Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Master Scheduler to join our operations team in Ottawa. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring smooth production flow and timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain business area forecasts, ensuring a thorough understanding of critical manufacturing resources and monitoring capacity throughout the cycle.
  • Adhere to and develop evolving master production scheduling policies and divisional standard procedures for master scheduling.
  • Notify management of potential plan delinquencies and apply appropriate capacity planning to assure long-term resource problems are exposed.
  • Respond to quotation requests by preparing functional CCPs and extracting relevant information from appropriate departments.
  • Coordinate manufacturing delivery commitments to program management and contracts.
  • Analyze customer demand and ensure that all items relevant to manufacturing deliverables are correct and that delivery dates are attainable.
  • Monitor and control changes to order policies and lead time policies.
  • Attend or instruct production controllers to attend configuration control boards to assure ECOs are correctly classified and written.
  • Work with manufacturing ops management and planning staff to prepare and provide schedules for project start-up and monitor and report progress of all relevant supporting elements.
  • Monitor master production schedules for potential slippages and problems that are liable to impact final delivery of product through system inquiries and close communication with material planners and production controllers.
  • Alert appropriate management of potential delinquencies and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Assure and recommend that production controllers apply appropriate input/output analysis to critical bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate recovery plans when necessary and call and chair formal meetings to coordinate activities and resolve problems that have evolved beyond material planner and production controller mandate.
  • Prepare and distribute regular project status summaries for relevant projects, if required.
  • Attend project review and production reviews as required.
  • Work directly with FG shippers to assure that goods are shipped and issued on a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain and present relevant performance measures within the manufacturing organization.
  • Act as backup for other master production schedulers when required.

Requirements

  • Diploma in material management, supply chain, business administration, or related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in production control planning, scheduling, and monitoring with an MRPII system.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian security clearance and a positive controlled goods assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
