Overview of the Position:

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Indirect Global Procurement & Supply Management, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will engage closely with internal stakeholders, the Global Procurement & Supply Management team, local purchasing units, and suppliers to develop competitive category and supply strategies aimed at cost reduction while ensuring flawless execution and risk management across CAE's Training Centers and Flight Training operations.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment where adaptability is key. A strong commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and results-oriented performance is essential. The successful candidate will possess exceptional analytical and communication skills, a proven ability to foster relationships with senior stakeholders, and experience across various categories, including real estate, facility management, professional services, training equipment, spares/repairs, and utilities. Are you prepared to:

  • Assess internal customer requirements and implement comprehensive procurement strategies globally and locally across all training centers and flight training operations.
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance related to category management and sourcing to meet corporate and divisional objectives.
  • Offer expert recommendations to internal stakeholders while establishing and nurturing effective partnerships within business units and with external suppliers.
  • Develop Service Level Agreements with internal customers and establish Key Performance Indicators to achieve annual goals and long-term strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support ongoing business transformation efforts.
  • Lead the development and execution of category strategies, conducting thorough category intelligence research to identify opportunities and foster innovation.
  • Implement cross-functional initiatives focused on cost reduction and cash flow improvement, fostering a culture of sustainable value without compromising supply assurance or quality.
  • Apply best practices in Category Management and, when necessary, organize and lead global category councils.
  • Assist Purchasing and Project teams in resolving issues with key suppliers.
  • Monitor relevant category metrics to consistently achieve targeted cost reduction plans.
  • Conduct Supplier Relationship Management with key suppliers.
  • Utilize comprehensive legal, commercial, and business principles to establish and enforce partnership agreements with strategic suppliers, in collaboration with Legal and other relevant departments.
  • Identify suitable vendors in emerging markets and cultivate sustainable partnerships in alignment with CSR policies and standards.
  • Lead market intelligence efforts to uncover relevant external innovations and gain competitive advantages through partnerships with top-tier suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Management, Engineering, Operations, or a related field is required.
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; familiarity with BI tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sourcing, category management, vendor management, purchasing, or material management is required; technical or manufacturing experience is also beneficial.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP/P2P, SAP, and Ariba is preferred.
