Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Selkirk First Nation. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our organization, ensuring that our HR practices and policies align with our goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the activities of the HR department to ensure they meet the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate human resources policies and programs.
  • Review HR projects to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the classification and rating of occupations.
  • Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales.
  • Administer benefit, employment equity, and other human resources programs.
  • Coordinate employee performance and appraisal programs.
  • Research employee benefits and health and safety practices and recommend changes.
  • Advise senior management.
  • Respond to employee questions and complaints.
  • Provide customer service.
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Propose improvements to methods, systems, and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 5 years or more of experience in human resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation.
