Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Selkirk First Nation. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the HR team to ensure they meet the organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the activities of the HR department to ensure they meet the organization's goals
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate human resources policies and programs
  • Review HR projects to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Oversee the classification and rating of occupations
  • Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales
  • Administer benefit, employment equity, and other human resources programs
  • Coordinate employee performance and appraisal programs
  • Research employee benefits and health and safety practices and recommend changes
  • Advise senior management
  • Respond to employee questions and complaints
  • Provide customer service
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Propose improvements to methods, systems, and procedures
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years or more of experience in human resources
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Flexibility, judgement, and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Valid driver's licence and own transportation
