Job Title: Secondary Occasional Teacher

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Secondary Occasional Teacher to join our team at the District School Board of Niagara. As an Occasional Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of schools throughout the Niagara region, gaining valuable teaching experience and supporting the needs of students across the system.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students in grades 9-12, with a focus on academic achievement and student success. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and school administrators to develop and implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide feedback to students.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction and support to students in grades 9-12
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students
  • Collaborate with colleagues and school administrators to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
Requirements:
  • Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Conditions of Employment: Maintain good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, Upon hire, provide a Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within six months), Agreement to comply with the Board's policies, procedures and code of conduct, Successful completion of a probationary period in accordance with the Collective Agreement, Work a minimum of 15 teaching days in an academic school year, Complete an annual offence declaration process
