Job Summary:We are looking for a motivated and safety-conscious individual to perform all aspects of tire and related service and repair for mining tires, adhering to Kal Tire's work and safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the standard for service excellence within the industry and demonstrating the Kal Tire AIMS.
Key Responsibilities:- Service Excellence: Provide exceptional service to customers, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
- Tire Shop Work: Perform all aspects of tire shop work related to customer sites, including tire mounting, dismounting, and repair.
- Assist Mine Maintenance Staff: Assist mine maintenance staff as required, ensuring seamless operations.
- Maintenance of Tools and Equipment: Perform regular maintenance of tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Tire Inspection and Maintenance: Maintain accurate tire inspection and maintenance programs on site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Best Practices: Demonstrate and promote best practices to customers, ensuring a high level of service excellence.
- Dismount and Mount Tires: Dismount and mount tires for various vehicles in the mining industry, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Equipment Checks and Calibrations: Perform regular equipment checks and calibrations, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Wheel Fitting and Removal: Fit and remove wheels from any type of vehicle, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Tire and Rim Assembly: Mount and strip any type of tire and assemble rims, ensuring accurate and precise operations.
- Balance and Repair: Balance any type of tire and rim assembly, and perform repairs to tires and tubes, ensuring high-quality results.
- Inspections and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections and determine the suitability of wheel components to remain in service, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Heavy-Duty Tire Servicing Equipment: Operate heavy-duty tire servicing equipment and tools, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Maintenance Checks and Reporting: Perform regular maintenance checks and ensure all work is done according to Kal Tire work and safety standards, completing required reporting and logging of data.
- Compliance with Safety Regulations: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and requirements, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Hygiene Standards: Maintain high hygiene standards in the facility, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Hazard Reporting: Report hazards, unsafe work conditions, and equipment to supervisors, ensuring prompt action to eliminate or reduce risks.
- Incident Reporting: Report all incidents and injuries according to procedures, ensuring prompt action to prevent reoccurrence.
- Participation in Safety Meetings: Actively participate in regular safety meetings and inspections, promoting and improving safety in the workplace.
- Adherence to Safety Standards: Ensure all safety standards are followed, and work is performed without incident to team, equipment, or tires.
- Correct and Safe Use of Equipment: Ensure correct and safe use of tire service tools and equipment, promoting a culture of safety.
- LMS and Velocity: Use LMS and Velocity monthly as per guidelines, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Tire Repair Efficiency: Repair tires efficiently to meet customer needs, ensuring high-quality results.
- Team Contribution: Contribute to the smooth operations of the Kal Tire Shop, ensuring a high level of service excellence.
- At least two years of related experience with direct experience as a tire technician preferred.
- OTR Service Training and Certifications: OTR service training and certifications desired.
- Experience Operating and Maintaining Equipment: Experience operating and maintaining tire manipulators, forklifts, and service trucks.
- Experience in a Safety-Conscious Environment: Experience working in an environment where safety procedures are a key part of daily operations.
- Physical Ability: Able to physically perform the duties of an OTR Tire Technician safely.
- Licenses and Certifications: Able to obtain and maintain all applicable licenses, certificates as required to perform the duties as required to work at mine sites.
- Mechanical Ability: Able to perform mechanically related tasks.
- Safety Awareness: Able to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner.
- Results-Oriented: Able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team.
- Problem-Solving: Must be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative, solve problems, be able and willing to work without direct supervision, and be willing to attend appropriate training sessions.
- Tire Failure Analysis: Understand tire failure causes and analysis.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills and ability to express themselves well both verbally and in writing.
- Literacy and Numeracy: Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license and ability to comply with relevant insurance policies.
- Secondary School Diploma: Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Additional Certification and Training: Additional certification and training preferred.
