Role Summary:
The Corporate Finance Advisory team at Scotiabank is integral in providing innovative capital market solutions to our corporate clientele. We collaborate closely with various sectors including Corporate & Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, and Equity Capital Markets to deliver comprehensive analysis and strategic recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Analyst or Associate, you will engage in a variety of transactions and support senior team members in generating new business opportunities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and analyzing the financial requirements of corporate clients.
- Gathering, consolidating, and interpreting data from various industries and markets.
- Conducting credit rating assessments, including scenario analyses using established methodologies.
- Developing insightful analyses and producing high-quality presentations.
- Assisting in the execution of ratings advisory projects, including drafting presentations for rating agencies and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Maintaining and analyzing ongoing client, market, and product data.
- Identifying and nurturing business opportunities with clients.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate and/or investment banking or leveraged finance.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Science, or Technology.
- Professional designations such as CFA or CPA are advantageous.
- A proven track record of excellence in academic and extracurricular pursuits.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a hybrid model, with expectations for in-office presence several days a week, adaptable to business needs.
