Role Overview

The Corporate Finance Advisory Function at Scotiabank is seeking an Analyst or Associate to support senior members of the team in generating new business opportunities and executing transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate and/or investment banking or leveraged finance, with a proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of corporate clients
  • Collect and interpret company, industry, and market data
  • Complete credit rating analysis, including scenario analysis using external credit rating methodologies
  • Create high-quality presentations and deliver well-thought-out analysis
  • Facilitate the execution of ratings advisory mandates, including supporting drafting of rating agency presentations and marketing materials
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze client, market, and product data
  • Identify and develop business opportunities with clients

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of corporate and/or investment banking or leveraged finance experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science, or Technology
  • CFA, CPA, or equivalent designation is an asset
