Job Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the BC Children's and Women's Hospitals is seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to join the Division of Microbiology, Virology and Infection Control.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Medical Microbiology services, including participation in the on-call roster.
- Provide Infection Control services, including reporting to PHSA Medical Affairs.
- Build relationships and provide prompt and expert consultative services to physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Support the Infection Control Program at PHSA, with a focus at BC Children's and Women's Hospitals.
- Participate in daily meetings with Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Infection Control, and the Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist.
- Be actively engaged in academic teaching and research.
Requirements
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia.
- Fellowship in Medical Microbiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent qualification.
