Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Registered Nurse
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to become part of the General Surgery team. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver nursing care independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Conduct assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes. Engage in discharge planning, advocate for patients, and educate patients and their families on health management. Enhance the quality of life for patients and their families through compassionate care. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and respond to incidents following established protocols. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Commit to ongoing professional development and clinical competence. Participate in hospital committees and approved research initiatives as required.Additional Information
Relocation support and staff housing options may be available. Eligible nurses may also qualify for student loan forgiveness for British Columbia student loans.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Active registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).Skills & Competencies
Proven nursing practice skills related to the designated patient population. Ability to create and implement effective care plans. Competence in adapting to unforeseen circumstances, resolving conflicts, and prioritizing tasks. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment. Skills in counseling and educating patients and their families. Leadership qualities demonstrated through initiative and independence. Proficiency in clinical techniques and the use of medical equipment. Competence in CPR and emergency response techniques. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.Work Environment
