As a Bridge Engineer Lead, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of bridge projects, from preliminary design to detailed design and construction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a bridge group, supporting other MPE offices and disciplines.
  • Write proposals and manage projects, including planning, assessment, reporting, design, and inspection for bridge projects.
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed design calculations, technical reports, project specifications, and contract documents.
  • Develop structural details and construction plans, perform structural analysis, and prepare design calculations.
  • Conduct design checks and quality audits of drawings and contract documents.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections, provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to junior engineers, technologists, and technicians.
  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules.

Requirements

  • Civil or Structural Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.).
  • Over 10 years of experience in the design of bridges and experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code.
  • Demonstrated experience in the area of bridge engineering with a recognized consulting engineering firm.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, industry standard bridge design and analysis software, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in preliminary design and detailed design of new bridges and rehabilitation or evaluation of existing bridges; steel and concrete structures.
  • Ability to work independently and interact well with other staff, and mentor junior staff.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
